The Jerry and Irene Green Instrumental Scholarship

The Jerry and Irene Green Scholarship is a single-session, full-tuition, scholarship awarded by the NEMC Board of Trustees to recognize and honor the outstanding contributions made to NEMC by the Greens. Jerry Green played a major role not only in founding the venue for the Pops Concerts, but also in insuring their continued success as viable cultural experiences for the Central Maine Community.

The Green Scholarship may be awarded in different instrumental fields in different years. Each season, the NEMC Board of Trustees will determine which instrument(s) will be eligible to compete for the Green Scholarship. For the 2009 Camp Season, campers who play the following instruments are eligible to apply for the Green Scholarship:

Independent judges chosen by the NEMC Board of Trustees will select the winner of the Scholarship based upon merit and/or upon the instrumentation requirements of the Camp in any given session. The scholarship can be awarded for either the first session or the second session, based upon the student's and/or the Camp's schedule.
