A native of Detroit, Michigan, Andrew Madej earned a B.M. from Oberlin College and an M.M. from the New England Conservatory of Music where he studied with renowned performers and pedagogues Wesley Jacobs, James DeSano, Ronald Bishop and Mike Roylance.
Andrew has performed with The Hot Tamales Brass Band at Fenway Park, Underground Horns, Fireworks Ensemble, Patriot Brass Ensemble, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Naples Philharmonic, New England Symphonic Ensemble, International Contemporary Ensemble, and New York City Ballet and is a founding member of the Affinity Brass Quintet.
Mr. Madej frequently performs at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Miller Theater and other major New York area venues. On film he can be heard on the soundtrack for the film Don Jon and has also performed on HBO’s Boardwalk Empire. He has toured extensively in the United States and has performed as a soloist in China.
He currently serves on faculty at Long Island University Post and Brooklyn College.
