Happy Birthday Luciano Pavarotti

Happy Birthday to the late Luciano Pavarotti (October 12, 1935 –  September 6, 2007)!

My childhood memories are rich with music and have influenced my life in so many ways. I fell in love with Luciano Pavarotti the very first time I heard his voice. I was about 8 or 9 years old and as I sat on the floor of our living room, making faces because we were watching stuffy old PBS again, something happened and the sounds from the TV captured a part of my soul. I have no recollection of what the program or the music was that night but I fell in love with music and opera and Luciano Pavarotti’s voice. His many televised concerts and appearances brought classical music and opera into the living rooms of many and, I have no doubt, influenced the lives of many other children like myself. I always enjoyed the annual charity concerts “Pavarotti and Friends”.  Those concerts brought together some of the biggest names in pop music and while some collaboration were more successful than others, they were always entertaining and fun to watch.

I’m a big Bon Jovi fan so in honor of the late Luciano Pavarotti’s birthday I thought I’d share “Let it Rain” with you today. Have a great weekend! Enjoy!
